When it comes to working with a chiropractor in Singapore, we are probably the most expensive clinic. We are not ashamed of it because we consistently drive results for our clients, even those who gave us one-star on Google. Beyond that, we also know that the average spend of our clients are LESS THAN HALF of what a person would pay at a more traditional clinic.
So, you save money by choosing us over our competitors.
How can you charge double your competitors but yet your clients still save money?
Well, we educate you. And we don’t cookie-cutter our way through your recovery.
If you have been to a chiropractic clinic, you know that all you receive is a standard set of adjustments every single visit. If it’s an open concept clinic, you’ll even notice everyone else receiving the same set of adjustments.
In fact, it’s so well documented that chiropractors refer to this as the flying seven.
So, we think the intent matters. Our intent is to empower our clients so they are not dependent on us for the rest of their lives. Other chiropractic clinics, however, would sell maintenance packages and insist you need to be adjusted for life.
We teach you to fish.
A lot of prospective clients focused on that we use exercise for recovery.
You have a problem, we give you some exercises, your problem goes away.
That’s not what we do. We educate our clients.
What does this mean?
You have a problem, we explore your problem together with you. We use exercise to help with the physical aspects of it. We also educate you about your pain and how your body responds to exercise, so you can help yourself the next time your pain happens.
We don’t really subscribe to an exercise-only model because what happens the next time your pain comes back?
It’s unlikely the same set of exercises will work again because the context in which your pain arises will be different. So, doing the same exercises may not actually help you.
With education and an empowerment-based recovery approach, however, you’ll be able to evaluate your own pain experience and figure out a working solution for yourself.
This is why our clients save money overall. Not only do we not use a cookie cutter approach, we also teach you to fish for your own pain relief, so you know exactly how to treat yourself the next time you have the same problem.
Good deal, right?
What if I already know all the exercises you use?
Last week, a client who was deliberating if he should work with us. In his exact words, “let me be frank. What if i already know most of the exercises that you are going to recommend?”
Let us also be frank. If you already know most — or even all — the exercise we suggest, but yet CANNOT drive your own recovery, what use is this knowledge to you?
We all know the main ingredients that go into a cake are flour, eggs, butter, sugar, salt, milk or water, and leavening agents (e.g., baking soda). But how many of us can bake a cake that is worth the calories?
Do not conflate head knowledge with results.
Good recovery only happens if you know exactly what your end goal is. If your end goal is to be pain-free or injury-free, then that’s all that matters. How much you actually know in theory actually doesn’t matter if you cannot drive recovery results for yourself!
At the end of the day, all us us implicitly know that knowledge acquisition is not going to make your recovery a success. Even if you have read McGill books, which by the way are outdated and no longer reflect best evidence practice, you may not be able to drive your own recovery.
If it was so easy to be successful, then reading all the books in Warren Buffett’s book list should make me a billionaire, no?
Recovery is honestly not so easy.
Chronic pain and injury management is honestly extremely complex. If it was an easy feat, we would be getting 100% success rate for every client we take on.
The truth is our success rate is only upwards of 80%.
If pain management was so easy, then we also wouldn’t need to do a personalised test-retest process (i.e., step 5 to 7). The fact is that there are many variables that come into play in chronic pain that it is impossible to work with without an abductive reasoning process.
This is why all of us, yes, ourselves inclusive, can do with professional when it comes to our own recovery.
If you have been trying to self-manage, and you are getting nowhere, we highly recommend you seek professional help.
Yes, we may not be able to guarantee you success. However, your chances of success is a lot higher with us than if you were to self-manage alone. Especially if you have been trying and getting nowhere!
Remember, obstinate is not grit.
