How is Square One Active Recovery different from other chiropractors?
As a super small chiropractic clinic, we don’t have as many stakeholders to account to. That allows us to run lean and prioritise our clients over profits.
Because of this, we are able to focus on delivering long-term results for our clients. We genuinely strive to make our own services redundant to other clients.
In terms of treatment delivery, our emphasis is on exercise, education, and coaching. Exercise helps our clients become stronger and more resilient while education equips our clients with the relevant knowledge and skill so they are not dependent on us.
What about coaching?
We added coaching into the mix fairly recently. The need for coaching became very obvious because people often know what to do. They just struggle to actually do it.
In the sense, knowing is not always half the battle won.
For example, we know exercise is good for us but actually getting down to exercising is a completely different ball game.
This is where coaching comes in. When you are stuck and no longer making progress, we partner you to help you reframe your problems or to tap into your strengths and resources. In doing so, we see that our clients can “unlock” themselves.
What are the results I can expect from working with you?
I must tell you that results take hard work. If you want good results, you must be opened to doing things differently and being challenged.
Over 80% of our clients will achieve their recovery goals in four to seven sessions.
You can also expect to see yourself become fitter and stronger! This is one of the perks of using exercise as a treatment.
Our clients don’t just leave pain-free. They often experience tangible improvements from working with us. For example, one client came in with back pain and was unable to walk upright without pain. By his eighth session, he was doing one leg box jumps without any back pain!
I must emphasise that what we do is not suitable for everyone though. Check out these one-star chiropractic reviews.
How do you charge?
We work with our clients on a project basis. Essentially, you’d come with a recovery goal and we would work to get you there.
The first consultation fee starts from $315. Following which, we offer a few recovery mentorship programmes for our clients to choose from. Our clients typically pay between $350 to $650 per month to work with us.
We decided to move away from the pay-per-session model because the results were poor. People would come when they have pain then stop coming when they pain improves.
This is a terrible approach to recovery because feeling better doesn’t mean that you are actually better. What this sort of treatment approach does is to encourage yo-yo recovery.
There’s no real long-term results.
What is the pros and cons to your method?
I’ll talk about the con first. You may not feeling better at the start. I think this is something most people struggle with.
In order for us to increase your body’s robustness and resilience, we have to stimulate it a little. The best way to do this is through exercise.
While the exercises prescribed have very low risk of injury, and sometimes virtually no risk of injury, it can hurt a little more. This is because we are challenging your body.
The pro? You get long-term results.
Because you worked for your own recovery, nobody can take your recovery away from you. It is yours to keep.
This works so much better than traditional methods such as chiropractic adjustments where you would only feel better if you keep coming back. Even if you are already pain-free, you still have to keep seeing your chiropractor to maintain the results!
