We know it’s hard to find a good chiropractor Singapore. The chiropractic profession doesn’t have a good rep in Singapore because there are many dishonest and unethical chiropractors. We started Square One in 2018 so we could build strong relationships with our community and deliver evidence based care for our patients. How exactly are we doing this?
#1: We follow science and research
Square One is probably one of the only chiropractic clinics in Singapore that are 100% clinical practice guideline compliant.
We started as a multimodality chiropractic clinic in 2018. We offered chiropractic adjustments, dry needling, IASTM to complement our exercise prescription program. It worked out well but people taking longer than expected to get better. At that point in time, research was already pointing to exercise therapy as the first line treatment for low back pain.
In August 2018, we decided to take the plunge and transitioned to a 100% exercise-based chiropractor. Since the change in our we approach pain management, our clients are getting better faster. In fact, over 80% of them will leave our care within four to seven visits.
We deliver more results than our package-selling counterparts.
#2: We are plugged in to the health care community
We maintain close relationships with other health professionals in Singapore. They could be a medical doctor, exercise physiologist, or a physiotherapist – it doesn’t matter. We believe in collaboration and working together to give you the best pain solution possible.
Everyone encounters clients with complex neck pain or shoulder pain at some stage. Being part of a collaborative community, we are able to learn from each other, exchange research papers, and clinical tips to deliver the best chiropractic care.
We are very thankful to work with doctors who do not believe pain killers to be the ultimate pain solution. With their referrals, we are able to help more patients achieve pain free living with natural healings.
#3: We designed our office to reflect best clinical practice
We moved to our current location at Bukit Pasoh Road in January 2019. We are super stoked to have moved into a conserved shophouse just two minutes away from Outram Park MRT Station. We are now connected to commuters on both the east-west line and north-east line!
Because we use exercise as our predominant treatment for pain, our office is outfitted with exercise equipment. We have a olympic lifting setup with dumbbells and kettlebells so all your recovery needs can be met. Your chiropractic treatment with Square One will be one of a kind. We promise.
We also opted for a sofa and coffee table set in our open concept office. Research tells us a strong doctor-patient relationship has a big role to play in long term pain relief. Because of that, we created a space so you can feel comfortable in your journey to pain free living.
#4: We believe in community
When we first opened our practice back in Clarke Quay, we did a week of pay-what-you-want chiropractic session. 100% of the proceeds went to Cycling Without Age. We have run community events with Singapore Design Week, Holland Village Farmer Market, Impact Hub and Field Assembly.
Our open concept office also doubles as a community space for events. Last month, we launched our first workshop series called Pain Schooled! We have had three editions so far and the fourth edition will feature millennial hawker and fitness icon Walter Tay on 20 June 2019.
We are so determined to build a community that our office is right in the middle of the Bukit Pasoh conservation area.
Most of us only know Bukit Pasoh because of the famous restaurants and cafes such as Restaurant Zen Singapore or The Reading Room. However, Bukit Pasoh’s history is goes far beyond that?
Bukit Pasoh Road is also known as the “Street of Clans” because of the road is filled with clan associations. Clan associations started back in the day to help Chinese migrants settle into Singapore. They attended to the welfare of migrants and provided basic necessities for the sick and underprivileged. As their affluence grew, clan associations started building schools and hospitals. Quite remarkable, no?
Straits Clan, possibly the modern day clan association, is just down the road from us. They are about connecting people who propel positive change and challenge the status quo. This is exactly the community we resonate with and we are super proud to be a member.
p.s. Ee Hoe Hean Club, whose members included Gan Eng Seng and Tan Kah Kee, is one of Singapore’s first millionaires clubs. Their clubhouse is also on Bukit Pasoh!
#5 We believe in education
We started a free workshop series called Pain Schooled!. Pain Schooled! was founded on the exploration of what it means to be living in pain in the 21st century. Our mission is to challenge attitudes and beliefs towards pain, and in turn educate pain sufferers with a holistic understanding of what their pain is.
The workshop is completely free because we believe in free access to information.
We are currently working to bring the workshop series into work places. If you know anyone who might be a good fit, do drop us a message.
